The History of True Vine
True Vine Church Ministry
True Vine Church Ministry is a powerful testimony of revival, resilience, and the enduring grace of God.
The original True Vine Church of God in Christ was founded in 1978 by Pastor Lofton Bulley Jr. and his wife, Pearl Marie Bulley, alongside their eight children. Together, they built a strong, faith-centered community grounded in love, family, and the Word of God.
In 1988, Pastor experienced the loss of Pearl Marie Bulley. Even in grief, he remained steadfast in his calling, continuing to serve as Superintendent of Faith District in Michigan’s Northeast Jurisdiction of COGIC. In time, God led him to close True Vine COGIC and sent him to Mississippi and other southern states to strengthen ministries before calling him back to Michigan.
The Rebirth
In the early 1990s, after completing his work in the South, God led Pastor back to Michigan to restart True Vine Church Ministry as we know it today.
During this season, Pastor remarried Juanita Bulley and embraced one bonus son into his life and family. The ministry flourished once again until 1999, when Sis. Juanita Bulley was called home. Through every season, God’s grace continued to sustain both Pastor and the ministry
Present Day
Today, Pastor leads alongside his wife, Lisa Bulley, and their family of four daughters and one grandchild. True Vine is thriving as a fully online ministry, reaching lives across the world while continuing to build real, personal relationships with Christ.
We have fully embraced this digital season, reaching hearts and homes around the world through online worship, teaching, and prayer. Though we may no longer gather within the four walls of a physical building, God has enlarged our territory. Through technology, we now connect with believers across states and nations, sharing the Gospel and building real relationships with Christ and one another.
Our Mission
Our mission remains unchanged: to build real relationships with God and His people through real talk, real teaching, and real Personal relationships with Christ Jesus. We are committed to uplifting, empowering, and equipping believers to walk boldly in their purpose… wherever they are.
As we continue to grow, we trust God’s promise that one day, in His perfect timing, True Vine Church Ministry will once again have a brick-and-mortar home. Until that day, we will continue to spread His Word, touch lives, and remind the world that the true church is not defined by walls, but by the presence of God within His people.
